On Mother's Day, Advocates Launch Nationwide Effort to Improve Assisted Living Services

Help Make Mom's Home Better Actions in 20 Cities Send Message for Quality Care, Value, High Standards.

(Washington, D.C.) Advocates launched a nationwide campaign this Mother's Day weekend to improve services and care at assisted living facilities. Armed with informational fliers and flowers for residents and visiting family members, participants in 20 cities sent a strong message about the need for these facilities to live up to their promise of quality care and good value.

"Assisted living provides seniors with a valuable choice for independence in long-term care. But not every facility delivers the best quality care and value. We can raise standards, providing even more choices in long term care and ensuring the safest and most comfortable homes possible," said Joan Lee of Gray Panthers of California, and a member of the Campaign to Improve Assisted Living.

Campaign members focused Mother's Day actions at 20 Atria facilities nationwide. As one of the largest assisted living providers in the country, Atria can set the standards for quality and value in the industry. The Campaign is calling on them to take leadership in the industry to provide the best possible services and care to their residents.

The Campaign to Improve Assisted Living works with residents, caregivers and families across the country to find ways to make homes like this one even better and more comfortable.
